2020 Hyundai Sonata User Guide PDF Download – The Hyundai Sonata 2020 marks the start of the eighth generation of Hyundai’s midsize sedan, and this latest Korean brand redesign is the most extensive model so far. While crossovers and SUVs are constantly attacking the powerful mid-sized sedan segment, Hyundai believes that the sedans are still worth building and selling. We spent a full day driving the next generation Sonata from Seoul to the Korean countryside, as well as recording a brief stay on the Hyundai high-speed test track Namyang to see that the company’s extensive efforts improve every facet of the Car.

The totally new Hyundai Sonata from the 2020 enters its eighth generation with a new image inspired by the concept of Le Fil Rouge. Compared to its predecessor, the model 2020 is a wider inch, 1.8 inches longer and 1.2 inches lower.
The interior of the Sonata 2020 features a new design with a large floating central touch screen, a push button gear selector and a group of digital instruments that can be offered only in the highest grades. Expect the Hyundai Sonata 2020 to present a new family of engines that includes a four-cylinder turbo option for those looking for more power. Hyundai’s eight-speed automatic transmission should return as the only transmission option. A hybrid model will probably come after the gas-only models. Hyundai has also hinted that it can add a high-performance N-model to the Sonata line for the new generation.

The first time we tried the new sedan was when we tried the next Hyundai Palisade crossover SUV in December in Korea. At first sight, the car was striking, elegant and polarizing. That’s intentional. As SangYup reads, Hyundai design Manager (and former Bentley, and GM designer) says to Motor1.com, “This is a slowdown segment, and we’re on the way to the Detroit Three, we start eliminating [sedans] and we’re going to an all-SUV address? We decided against that, to go bolder on the sedans, we think there’s always a place for them “
Lee successfully injects a little high dollar pedigree into this massive market car. The front is crushed like an Aston Martin, the proportions are magnificent, and the completely new platform on which the car sits extends in the Sonata almost two inches compared to the current generation. There are also some interesting details: one is a good visual trick that causes the chromed strip that extends from the headlights along the sides of the hood to light up when the car is on. It seems surprising, especially when the Sonata in the rearview mirror is looming. There are also aero-pins in the taillights that are a sportier accent than anything else in the segment you currently offer. Hyundai calls this new language of Sensual design Sportiness. It’s an apt title.
Lee is aware that some buyers may reject the bold design, but he and Hyundai believe that if there is any hope for the segment, medium sedans have to attract a younger buyer; Or at least catch the look of those who don’t normally look at a car like the Sonata. In practice and on the road, the car looks much more premium than any other class, except for the Mazda6. Enter and you will find a cohesive, clean and modern interior. Our model presented an information and entertainment system of 12.3 inch touch screen Mercedes-esque superior in a curved cabin, centered on the driver, as well as a group of digital instruments of 10.2 inches. The infotainment is simple and easy to use.
There is a new design of steering wheel, thin air outlets, many black piano finishes, as well as chrome and faux leather, which complements the Nappa leather seats. The center console is made of hard plastic and does not look as high as the rest of the cabin. There are also small details that give you a more premium feel than you would expect from a car that will probably start to cost just under $24.000 and exceed the $35.000 with all the bells and whistles. The roof lining is comfortable-your fingers sink into it-and there are attractive seams in the back seats that we are used to seeing in high end luxury cars.
The console-mounted push buttons replace the current shifter and provide additional space for large storage corners that host a wireless charging platform (although we realized that our phone was Hot after 30 minutes of resting on the charger), a volt of 180 volts plug, and two USB ports. The temperature is controlled by Audi-type tactile controls. The back also gets some love. There is enough room for the knees and legs, sufficient head space for adults of normal size, a central console that bends down with two cup holders, chrome-upholstered door handles that combine with the outside and a thin hole and slim to slide your hand in to close the door shut up, it doesn’t sound so great, but it is.
The models we handled were Korean spec production cars, equipped with an anemic 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The configuration is good for 158 horsepower and 145 lb/ft of torque. To put it mildly, this engine lacks power, and there is a notable delay between the accelerator application and when the engine starts to deliver power. Fortunately, the U.S. has a lot of more powerful engines. A 2.5-liter in-line four natural vacuum cleaner serves as a base engine and is good for 191 hp and 181 lb-ft, while a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo has 180 hp and 195 lb-ft swivel. Eventually a four-boat turbocharged of 2.5 liters will come, probably with an N or N-line insignia. Albert Biermann, head of research and development for Hyundai and former head of BMW M, said there will soon be a significant and meaningful energy shock, but he could not talk about it at the time.
While the Korean market configuration is totally inadequate for the U.S., we recorded a couple of laps on the Hyundai Namyang high-speed test track on a Sonata with the 1.6 T engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The acceleration felt fast, and the braking was excellent. We noticed the Continental summer rubber on the wheels of our test car, although we are told that the U.S. market model will use tires for all stations. We want to devote more time to evaluating it even more, but our brief stay at the Sonata 1.6 T alleviated our concerns about the lack of power of the Korean specification model engine.
Suspension damping will also change slightly for the American market. In general, the Korean market prefers milder damping than in North America, although we would not care if the US market Sonata were a little softer than this example of K.D.M. The light direction feels well-weighted and predictable.
Despite the efforts of Hyundai to improve noise, vibration and hardness (NVH), there is a certain perceptible noise in the road and the wind that enters the cabin at the speed of the road. This is something we would like to try on our own roads, but we suspect that these problems will persist in the North American-spec Sonatas.
Hyundai rotates the signage in his ear with his new cameras for blind spots. Turn on the indicator to indicate a left or right turn and the speedometer (left) and the tachometer (right) switch to a live feed from the blind spot on that particular side, so the driver can observe the traffic. Fill the circle of the meter and, once the turn is complete, retrieves the digital aspect of the meter from the instrument. It is essentially a more advanced version of the Honda LaneWatch, and in general it is something you would expect in a car in a more expensive segment.
The additional security equipment is generous, with the latest version of Hyundai’s adaptive cruise control, as well as the automatic emergency braking and intelligent track assist system, which eliminates much of the tension of the Road driving. Like similar Volvo systems, Hyundai’s system can administer the driving duties for a short time, even if we (or the automaker, in this case) do not advise such behavior. We managed to keep our hands off the wheel for about 16 seconds and 25 seconds (in the two cases we timed) before the computers asked us to Reanudáramos control. That gives drivers an impressive level of freedom of maneuver. Typically, these systems closely monitor the steering entrances to make sure the driver is still alert, even though the car is doing most of the work. It seemed that the system could also have lasted longer if we had not been on a road with a lot of traffic and a lot of traffic.
The Hyundai Sonata 2020 will come later this year, with a fresh, elegant and daring style, and a modern and cohesive interior. With a possible range of motors and power bands for all tastes, new technology and a wide range of features and standard content, the Sonata will be an even more attractive sedan in an ever-smaller segment.
